Hey Ginger

Probably the most beautiful store in the world. Definitely the most creative store in London. Easily my favourite place to shop. & Other Stories is a wonderland of fashion, beauty and accessories from the company that created H&M and Cos and landed on the doorstep of my office on Argile St last year.  These little tubs of ginger goodness were a christmas treat  from my boss and are part of the vast collection of I-cant-live-without beauty products.  If you haven't yet checked out the website, do.  Its beautiful.

The holly and the ivy

When you live in the depths of the countryside decorating for Christmas first involves hunting down the perfect greenery.  These pictures were taken last week in my waterproof coat in between the storms.  Perfect holy, ivy and berries were found and the decorating began xx

Insta December

December's look back through Instagram was all about Holly and baked Clementines for the final few weeks.  My Favourite items of clothing were my cropped H&M grey knit and my Preen peony dress.  I got my gorgeous new Canon SLR and visited the Debenhams Press Show for SS14.  A pretty perfect month xx

Sea View and a little Todd Lynn

There is nothing quite like a December on the beach after too many days of over drinking and over eating.  This beach is so close to home I count it as my second back garden and I couldn't resist this idilic sunshine.  Wearing my new Todd Lynn for Debenhams leather sleeve jacket and a cropped blouse from next springs Topshop collection and trying to wear in my Dr Martins boots (still) whist bathing in the glorious light.  The main aim was to try out my new Canon SLR camera that my boyfriend Santa very kindly bought me.

Make sure you check out some of the gorgeous pieces from Debenhams 'Designers at Debenhams' collection this season.  My favourite is of course this blazer but the entire collection is stunning.

Red Check and Oranges

Today I am finishing off all things christmassy and am doing so in my new rather festive cropped red check Topshop shirt.  I have baked my clementines ready for garland making and now I am on to decorating with fresh holly and ivy before conquering the present wrapping. xx

Sightseeing at Christmas

I spent several years living and studying in Brighton whilst I was at University but it has been a while since I visited.  Today I did a little sightseeing and a lot of Christmas shopping when I returned for a Daddy-Daughter day.  The weather was freezing but beautiful so perfect for a stroll in the Pavilion gardens and a walk down the pier.  Fish and chips was a must although it was definitely too cold for a 99!  If you have never visited I highly recommend the beautiful seaside city.  The sun was setting at sea at only 2.30pm - role on summers long days xx

Peach Perfect

Durring winter I have two face modes: a better cover foundation (currently DHC) and a lighter matt cover for weekends and non meeting days.  Recently Miners sent me their brand new Fresh Faced powder to try and I cant get enough of it.  Completely matt and paraben free it is light weight with no caking.  I find it lasts all day and is perfect over a moisturiser to keep winter skin soft and hydrated.

The powder comes in three shades: Translucent Ivory, Soft Sand (me), and Honey and is only £3.99.   For a light cover I use a bronzing brush but the product would also work well with a make-up sponge for a slightly thicker coat.  I shall be carrying mine around constantly for the next few months.

Easy Livin'

Checks and tartans are an essential to every Autumn Winter catwalk, however this year they have exploded into stores with full force.  Instead of the usual country style plaids the check has a simpler feel with clean silhouettes and simple styling.  The easiest way to win at this trend is to go for a check dress in either a shift or tube style.  At this time of year pair with black tights, ankle boots and an oversided black coat.

I love this easy red check tube dress in the new longer midi style by OMG Fashion.  It's soft jersey fabric and long sleeves makes it perfect to throw on for day but will go from office to bar perfectly.  I have added a black Leather choker and these gorgeous super comfy Aldo ankle boots and I'm good to go.  The best bit is this dress is only £14 so it is the ideal from-me-to-me treat pre-christmas.

Smoothly smoothly

Being determined to get some serious partying in this Christmas I am still all about the perfect party pack. Looking good is feeling good and little handbag essentials really can make all the difference. So I've already thrown in my teeny Mark Hill mini straighteners to help against windswept locks, and now for a little biro sized product.

This John Frieda Full Repair smooth flyways stick is amazing! I can't quite work out why nobody has thought of it before. Do you remember those coloured hair mascaras they we used to sweep purple and neon pink thick gunk through our hair around ten years ago? Well this is the same concept, apart from instead of thick colour it smooths through a light silky serum.

The product smooths fine hairs and fly aways so is ideal for keeping strays at bay during our winters (it would also be perfect on a hot holiday for beach hair). The product doesn't go hard and is also a heat protector so you don't have to worry when using it on baby hair or frazzled ends. It's mascara end makes it very eary to sweep on for after work drinks.  I am so impressed that this little baby isn't leaving my handbag. Highly recommend, pic one of these up in Boots for just £10.99 now xx

Perfect Christmas On The Go

It's this time of year that you realise just how bulky and heavy your straighteners are.  Christmas parties, drinks after work and lots of late last minute plans are what make this the season to be merry, however lugging around a sack just incase can ruin it all.

I am trying to put together the perfect holiday package that fits into my handbag.  England is not known for its winter weather and we will have plenty of rain over the next few months.  Luckily I can do a last minute tweak and style with these itzy bitzy yet perfectly formed Mark Hill straighteners.  Don't be fooled, they may be small but they are very effective.  The shape makes them perfect for shaping, fringes and putting in curls whilst being big enough to do an all over job if needed.

They even come with a heat proof case so you don't have to wait for them to cool down before popping them in your handbag.  These are the perfect treat for yourself to make sure you get the most out of the party season.  Pick up these Mini Iconic straight and smooth ones on markhill.co.uk now for £39.99 - also available in Boots stores.

Fruit Salad

After loving Touche by Flavien's Shampoo and Conditioner in 'Shine Baby Shine' last month I couldn't wait to try some more of Flavien Abbas beautifully natural haircare.

The key ingredients to the collection include the miracle Prickly Pear oil.  This pricy rare ingredient is rich in Vitamin E , has a high moisture content and is a natural anti-oxident.  This Leave in conditioner is a new favourite and smells just divine!  Just a small amount on damp or dry hair beats frizz whilst adding shine and hydrating.  Winter can be so drying on my hair and it can loose a lot of shine.  Is it the heating or the icy mornings?  It is a joy to use a little of this product onto my ends every morning to freshen my day and smooth my locks!  Pick up a little fruity lifesaver now for a pre- Christmas treat for your hair.  Available at Urban Retreat and at Fenwicks for £39. xx

A little piece of spring time.

I was lucky enough to get invited along to the Asos Spring Summer 2014 press show to see a preview of their collections.  The only problem with this is now, at the start of our long cold British winter I just want it to be summer again.  The pieces were exquisite, with a focus on texture across all the ranges.  The trends were full of minimal shapes and structures and sheer fabrics in neutrals, whites and a hint of pastel neon.

Some of my favourites were the candy pink ladylike bag, the palest grey zip detail dress and the Celine style chunky metallic sandals with the double sole.  The sunglasses with mirror lenses and rounded chunky frames will also be jumping into my wardrobe!  I can't wait for these shades to fill my wardrobe again, but in the mean time I will be stocking up from their site for Christmas xx

A little Seasonal Glamour

This is the season for glamourous hair.  After a year of Gatsby, the glossy ponytail and Chanel's AW13 catwalks glossy manes this Christmas is all about getting the wow factor.  I can't get enough of Mark Hills lovely luxury feel products.  No Knots is the perfect leave in detangling spray for an easy knot free start.

If you only purchase one product to pop in your luggage for the party season get Work it girl.  Heat protector, shine spray and all purpose hairspray it is ideal for creating everything from shiny straight locks to bouncy 20s glam.  At only £5.49 it's not to be missed.

Finish any look with the wonderful Bedazzled spray!  This lightweight spray beats humidity to stop frizz and create shine.  Oh just perfect xx

Ok, I'm giving in to sparkle.

Yes, back to my Christmas obsession.  I try not to get into the Christmas mood for as long as possible but now it's November I'm giving in.  Christmas is all about a little sparkle and these stunning L.K.Bennett kitten heels are just perfect for this time of year, and to bring a smile to my face.  I will be wearing mine with black trousers, a crisp white shirt and a tiny black velvet ribbon tie.  For drinks with friends they will be ideal with a swinging full midi skirt and a glass of sherry. L.K. Bennett you have done us proud xx
