YAY

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!  Well not quite, it's next Tuesday.  However with Spring feeling just around the corner and the prettiest new season collections hitting stores I'm lusting after creams, whites, nude pinks and of course lots of black.  This is my ultimate wish list...

Yes please!  This clean saddle bag has the prettiest chain detailing and has quickly become a forever piece.  Now just to decide on which colour.  Which is your favourite?  I'm thinking black or nude.

Nothing gives you that feeling that a long warm Summer is just around the corner like a pair of beautiful espadrilles and these Kenzo tiger classics have been on my list a while.  Great now with jeans and a white shirt and later in the season with a floaty dress.

What better way to wake up this Spring than with a burst of glorious smelling Figs?  The simple packaging is a White Company classic and will make your bathroom look and smell like a hotel.

Whether to you use it to make Mac n Cheese, plant flowers in or pop on the side of the bed to empty your essentials into.  Beautiful.

Is a birthday complete without flowers?  Debenhams flower delivery service have a great selection including bouquets of white roses, pink tulips and these hyacinths.

This primer has gold flecks which make skin glow as well as SPF.  As a big Nars fan I'm desperate to try it.

A make-up artists classic which promises to eliminate dark circles and blemishes.

These beautiful Chloe hoop earrings are large enough to be a statement piece whilst small enough for every day.  I could happily float the Summer away in these.

Yes you may need to pop a leather jacket over for a few more weeks but just how pretty is this blouse?

This candle smells devine and as a serious candle fiend a new flame never goes a miss.

& Other Stories underwear is my go to for pretty yet affordable everyday sets and their Spring range is filled with sporty cutouts, vintage silk styles and gingham.  Super pretty.

I have a small head and High St hats never seem to fit but & Other Stories come in different sizes - the smallest of which is perfect.  If you have the same problem check them out.  This monochrome fedora needs no introduction...love.

As a coconut obsessive I can't wait to try & Other Stories new lip balms.  At just £5 they are a beautiful little gift.

The Perfect London Lunch / Gallery Mess At The Saatchi

If you're looking for the perfect girls lunch in London then Gallery Mess is your answer.  Situated within the famous Saatchi Gallery's courtyard this bright, airy restaurant is ideal for a glamorous snack or to waste away several hours.

Inside the restaurant the space is bright with a modern mix of neon signage, brick walls and sprigs of white blossom.  The huge windows allow the daylight to flood in - even when it's utterly grey outside.  When I popped in last month it was a typical London Spring day and the rain had set in.  It was during London Fashion Week and was the perfect place for a cocktail filled lunch with fellow blogger and close friend Emma Louise Layla.

We started off with a couple of celebratory Lychee Martinis (delicious) before ordering half a dozen Rock Oysters to share.  The menu was so tempting that we decided to order a bit of a selection to pick at together over what turned into a few hours.  We devoured the Seafood Sharing Board, a Beef Tartar and a side of Fries which were all amazing.  The staff were attentive and the food came out quickly which is great if you are on the go.  After our selection of dishes we were extremely full so  skipped dessert and opted for Espresso Martinis and a side of truffles - perfect for me as a coffee addict.

I will definitely be stopping by this lovely restaurant again!

Compact Cream Foundation / Nars

As many regular readers already know I commute a fair way to work everyday.  Living in Sussex by the sea and working in London gives me the best of both worlds but it does mean that my make-up has to last a really long time.  I don't carry a lot of products with me, however I do like to have something in my bag to do any touching up and take me from day to night. I thought I'd update my current concealer situation with something a little more useful and had some kind of foundation compact idea in mind.  A lot of the compacts out there are a powder format and this wasn't what I was after as I find powers a little drying, especially when the weather is still cold.

I'm a big Nars fan and already rate their Sheer Glow foundation. I use this most days and love the very lightweight fluid texture and good coverage.  It's a hydrating product and lasts far longer than a lot of foundations I have tried.  I spoke to the girls at the Nars counter in Selfridges and they recommended their Radiant Cream Compact Foundation. You purchase a case and then a colour and sponge combo which means you can just update with a refill in the future.  The case is a small enough size to be bag friendly and after a few weeks of bashing about seems strong and sturdy. The product itself is a solid block that once you start using becomes a creamy foundation. It's very easy to sponge on and you can either touch up a few areas or do an entire face of make-up.  Again this product is very moisturising and creamy so doesn't dry delicate skin.  I actually cannot fault it.

I'm using shade Light 2 Mont Blanc but the cream comes in twenty colours so there is definitely a shade for you.  I am well and truly on the Nars band wagon and have my eye on a few more of their products so I will keep you posted.

Any Denim Will Do

This season it's all about denim.  Jeans to be precise.

For the first time in as long as I can remember it's not so much about the style as HOW you style.  You can wear your black skinny jeans, your classic straight leg, your faded boyfriend or your mom high wasted.  There isn't one shape that you MUST have.  There are also more interesting cuts around  including the longer-at-the-back stepped hem and the frayed hem.  This pair are cropped and a little flared with a dip-dye, frayed edge.  If you had described them to me I probably would have told you that you were mad.  I completely fell for them and how you only have to throw on a black tee and some clean heels and you have the simplest look.  So this Spring maybe don't play is too safe and you may find a new style you adore.

LFW / Ryan Lo / AW16

Now if these photos from Ryan Lo's London Fashion Week show don't brighten your day I don't know what will.  One of my favourite shows from over the busy weekend featuring faux fur coats, bright multicoloured dresses and ponytails adorned with flowers and ribbons.  This was the first show on the busy Friday attended with friend and fellow blogger Emma Louise Layla of emmalouiselayla.com.  The self-taught Hong Kong born designer showed a catwalk of quirky, fun, girliness.

Although I won't be wearing an outfit head to toe I fell in love with the sheer dresses.  Pair with a long black biker and simple black boots and it's an easy win.  Hey I might even throw on a ribbon for good measure.

Styling Lingerie Over Knitwear

Even though I'm falling in love with spring's key pieces it's still almost too cold to wear most of them.    However where there's a will there's a way.  My favourite Catwalk trend for SS16 was lingerie for everyday (posted here courtesy of Givenchy).  This white and black, lace trimmed camisole with asymmetric trim is ideal for achieving this look.  Although this pretty top will really come into its own on a warm spring day I couldn't bare to leave it in the wardrobe until then.  I've styled it here over a black polo neck sweater with simple skinny jeans and a pair of Vintage Chanel earrings.  That will do the trick.
